OvS’ Amagansett Garden Featured in Garden Design

The Summer issue of Garden Design magazine includes a 14-page feature that details how OvS reinvented the 2-acre residential property located on a former nursery in Amagansett, NY into a summer retreat for an active family.

Work What You’ve Got, by Jenny Andrews, is part of the Garden Design’s Great Gardens Across America series. Filled with Rob Cardillo‘s photograhy, the piece gives insight to the design and execution of a classic OvS Garden in the Hamptons.  It explores how OvS developed a Landscape Master Plan sensitive to the environmental, historical, and cultural context, and how the firm re-interpreted existing species to the property’s multiple garden rooms – a sunken courtyard, a pool, a private garden, and an outdoor kitchen.

Garden Design is quarterly, ad-free publication. OvS profiled in the magazine’s Fall 2015 issue, which coincided with the New American Garden exhibition at the National Building Museum. The exhibition, organized by The Cultural Landscape Trust, is now on view at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
