Annual Casey Trees Canopy Awards at Blind Whino

OvS attended Casey Trees‘ hallmark event, a perennial favorite in the office.

Casey Trees Canopy Awards were handed out on Thursday, April 27 at Blind Whino, a fantastic event and arts space in Southwest Washington, DC. Senior Associate Stacilyn Feldman and Marketing and Communications Director Justin Maglione attended the event on OvS’ behalf.

Awards were presented for Volunteer Service, Partnership, Education, and Leadership.

The event, which always occurs the day before Arbor Day, boasts a spectrum of food, drink, and special activities. Popular this year were caricature artists, the photo booth, make-your-own-lapel-button station, and silent auction. ShakeShack (winner of the Partnership Award) captured the attendees’ delight with specialty ice creams and hot dogs.

In 2015, OvS won the Canopy Award for Design, for work on the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial.
