Crab Feast 2017: An OvS Tradition
On Saturday, August 12, OvS resurrected the annual Summer Crab Feast – a long time firm celebration typically held in or around Annapolis, MD.
As anyone from the DMV knows, there is no greater delicacy than the Chesapeake Blue Crab. Typically served with Old Bay, vinegar, or drawn butter, Blue Crabs are often sweeter than crabs found anywhere else on the planet (we’re also slightly biased).
This year’s Feast was held at the The Point Crab House where, in addition to bushels of crabs, OvS’ers took in corn on the Cobb, cole slaw, spiced fries, and plenty of Natty Boh, the unofficial beer of summer crab season. In addition to an annual party, Crab Feast was a chance to send off OvS’ summer intern team: Benton Williams (LSU), Abby Leonard (Morgan State), and Tiantong ‘Simba’ Gu (University of Michigan). Our best to this crew as they return to academia!
