MLK Memorial Library Roof Garden

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library’s Roof Garden was featured in the April 2024 issue of Gardens Illustrated magazine. The two-page spread features a stunning view of the 17,000 sf amenity roof terrace and its large-scale display gardens filled with drought-tolerant sedum, grasses, and perennials. The planters showcase a Native Pollinator Garden, a Garden of the Senses, and a Seasonal Viewing Garden. Extensive green roofs total over 26,000 sf of the remainder of the roofscape, creating a verdant view for neighboring buildings, absorbing stormwater, and mitigating the city’s heat island effect.
