Grand Opening of Monroe Street Market and Arts Walk
OvS Principal Sheila Brady and Senior Associate Marisa Scalera recently attended the Grand Opening Celebration of The Monroe Street Market, a new development project on which OvS served as landscape architect.
The Celebration took place at the Edgewood Arts Center.Located on the border of Washington, DC’s Brookland and Edgewood neighborhoods, Monroe Street Market is a vibrant community that features residences, dining, shopping, and 27 artists’ studios. The studios face the Arts Walk, a flexible public space that can host performances, displays, open-air markets and other events.Following the Grand Opening ceremony, attendees made their way to the Arts Walk for a celebration featuring live music, food and drinks from local restaurants, as well as the opportunity to browse the onsite artist studios.
In addition, Sheila and Marisa (along with husband Jonathan and son Micah) enjoyed dinner and craft beers at the newly-opened Brookland Pint on the Arts Walk. The event was an opportunity to celebrate the culmination of an ambitious project and to reconnect with colleagues at Bozzuto Development, Bozzuto Construction, Maurice Walters Architect, and KTGY Architecture + Planning.
