Often, OvS will arrange for plants to be grown from plugs (seedlings which have germinated and grown in trays of small cells) for transfer.

Using this method lessens the disturbance of a plant’s root system and allows the roots to remain as a single, compact unit. Once roots are established, the plugs can be transplanted into larger containers or put directly in the ground.

What might not come as a surprise is that we frequently specify large quantities of plugs. A single residential commission might require 50,000 plugs – each of which will need to be planted.

During the growth process, our design team checks in on the plugs status and ensures their proper growth.
