Institute for Classical Architecture and Art: From Conception to Reality with John B. Murray

OvS teamed with the Institute for Classical Architecture and Art to host a winter social featuring celebrated New York architect John B. Murray at OvS’ Capitol Hill studio on Friday, February 28th.

In his presentation, From Concept to Reality, Mr. Murray shared insight gained from over thirty years of experience as a designer and architect, and the collaboration required to transform projects from drawings into existence. His meticulous attention to detail was illustrated through a tour of an elegantly appointed New York City apartment.

Mr. Murray’s presentation was based on his recently published monograph, Classical Invention: The Architecture of John B. Murray (The Monacelli Press), which features three of his collaborations with OvS. The event gave professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds – architecture, interior design, art, urban planning and landscape architecture a chance to interact and explore the concepts of classical design. Following the presentation, Mr. Murray signed copies of the monograph for attendees.
