Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library Selected as a Special Mention in the Architizer A+Awards
OvS’ work at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library has been selected as a Special Mention in the Architizer A+Awards for the Public Parks + Green Spaces category. With entries received from over 80 countries, the Special Mention distinction is awarded to work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement and that scored in the top 10% of entrants.
OvS developed amenity spaces at street level and on the rooftop, along with 26,000 square feet of intensive green roof for the reimagined library. The firm is honored to have collaborated with Mecanoo and OTJ Architects on the renovation of the iconic Mies van der Rohe structure that honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The A+Awards are Archetizer’s largest awards program, with an audience of over seven million focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products. Its mission is to nurture the appreciation of meaningful architecture in the world and champion those products that are integral to bringing buildings to life.
