Native Garden Featured in The Washington Post
One of OvS’ residential gardens in Washington, DC was recently featured in The Washington Post. The garden, originally designed by founders Jim van Sweden and Wolfgang Oehme in 1992, belongs to long-time OvS friend and patron, Barbara Downs. In the article, Ms. Downs discusses how the garden has changed over time, as well her love of native plants, which attract insects and birds to her Georgetown home.
Over 25 years after the initial installation, OvS continues to work with Ms. Downs to shepherd the garden’s evolution. Principal Sheila Brady leads the firm’s effort to ensure the garden matures aesthetically and botanically and plays a pivotal role in the biodiversity of the property.
