Planting Day at the Hill Center (Old Naval Hospital)
On a sunny, crisp October day last week, Oehme, van Sweden staff designer Stacilyn Feldman joined volunteers at the Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital for a morning of planting.
New perennials were installed on the already lush grounds, including Ceratostigma plumbaginoides (Plumbago), Stachys byzantine ‘Helene von Stein’ (Lamb’s Ears), and Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ (Japanese Forest Grass). OvS designed the grounds of the Old Naval Hospital (the historic building was restored and then designated as the Hill Center at The Old Naval Hospital, a facility for public service) in 2010, and the firm is proud to continue its involvement with the upkeep of the grounds and with Capitol Hill community here.
